Privacy Policy

Cipio (“we”, “us”) makes an iOS app that helps you keep, find, and follow through on the things you save. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We’ve tried to keep it plain.
The short version: your saves live on your device. To turn a screenshot or link into a useful card, we send that content to an AI service to read it — but we don’t sell your data, show you ads, or build a profile of you. The only thing we store on our servers is your email, if you join the waitlist.
What we collect
Your saves (on your device)
When you add something to Cipio — a screenshot, a photo, a pasted or shared link — the item and the meaning we extract from it (title, price, ingredients, source, and similar fields) are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not keep a copy of your saves on our servers.
Photo library access
If you grant photo access, Cipio reads the images you choose so it can turn them into saves. We only use them for that purpose, on your device. We do not upload your photo library.
Waitlist email
If you enter your email on our website, we store it so we can send you a TestFlight invite and occasional product updates. That’s the only personal information we hold on our servers. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.
AI processing
To extract meaning from a save — reading a recipe, identifying a product, summarising an article — Cipio sends the relevant content (such as image data or the text and metadata of a link) to third-party AI providers, including Anthropic (the Claude API). These providers process the content to return a result and, per their terms, do not use API content to train their models. We send only what’s needed to process the item you saved.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent your personal information.
- We don’t show you ads or use third-party advertising trackers.
- We don’t build an advertising profile of you.
Data retention
Your saves remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Your waitlist email is kept until you ask us to remove it or unsubscribe.
Your choices
- Photos: manage or revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
- Your saves: delete any item in the app, or remove the app to clear all local data.
- Your email: email us to unsubscribe or have it deleted.
Children
Cipio is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we update this policy, we’ll change the date above and, for material changes, give notice in the app or by email.
